Digital Collection of the Rostock Cultural History Museum

The Rostock Cultural History Museum is today one of the most extensive art and cultural history collections in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and one of the most important centres for the documentation of civic cultural history in the state.

Founded in 1859, the museum is not only one of the oldest in northern Germany, but with its rich cultural and art-historical collections ranging from paintings and graphics to handicrafts, coins, furniture, militaria, everyday culture and archaeology, it also houses one of the most important collections in the state.
The rich collections on the history and culture of the Hanseatic city of Rostock from the Middle Ages to modern times are unique.
